Generalni sekretar NATO Jens Stoltenberg rekao je da je turski predsjednik Redžep Tajip Erdogan podržao ulazak Švedske u Alijansu nakon sastanka sa premijerom te zemlje.
Erdogan je ranije danas izjavio da bi njegova zemlja mogla da odobri prustup Švedske alijansi NATO ukoliko se “otvori put da Turska postane dio EU”.
